Dear Mom,
I am so sad and I just can not imagine that you are not with us anymore.
I very much hope that you are all right now.
I am deeply thankful that I had the chance to meet you so many years ago in 1982.
I am also deeply thankful that you opened your heart, your family and house and your life together with Dad for me, a young German girl at that time.
It was terrific to spend my exchange year in Hartley - the City with the Heart (That is absolutely true!) - at your place with both of you, your wonderful nice and funny kids, your friends and with Grandma.
You and Dad were always there for me, you explained the American way of life to me, accompanied me in school and sports - it was just the greatest to see you sitting on the tribunes to wait for the little moments when the German Kraut had the chance to play in an American school team. You made my graduation from the best High School ever happen - it was special.
You took me along to football and basketball games and you brought me to all these "foreign student events" from YFU, I had the chance to go on vacation with you to meet relatives and to see important places of the U.S.
My mental horizon was widened and my experiences of that year helped me always on my path. Through my whole life I could recommend to be an exchange student because of you.
Talking and laughing with you is one of my treasured memories in my life and I still hear you saying "Honey..."
Until sometime!
Love, Manja
Dearest Dad,
dear Delmar and Karen, Dawn, David, Denise and Debbie,
I feel very, very sorry for you and I think of you.
Take care and many hugs from Hamburg, Germany.
Love, Manja and Carsten

I am very sorry for your loss. My heart goes out to you in this difficult time. I know it’s hard to go through this pain, but I hope you may find comfort in knowing that God cares about how you feel and that He promises that “there is going to be a resurrection.” (Acts 24:15) (1 Peter 5:7) Won’t that be wonderful to see our loved ones again! I hope this promise brings you comfort as it does me.

We are sorry to hear of your loss. We pray along side of all the members of the family for relief of sorrow. We can only hope that peace will find your heart soon. Rejoice now that she has found her peace and rests comfortably knowing her savior is close by to show her the way home.

Evie and I chatted many times as we were both in the same Ladies card club. I always admired her positive attitude and her faith in God.
She is being missed in that card club and will be missed by many.
We will hold the family in our prayers. Cherish those sweet memories now and may they bring comfort to all your aching hearts.
