Obituary of Brett Thomas Flynn
Please share a memory of Brett to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Brett Thomas Flynn was born April 2, 1993, in Spencer, Iowa, to Kenneth John and Connie Jo (Harson) Flynn, formerly of Emmetsburg, Iowa. He spent his youth in Hartley, Iowa, where he attended HMS High School, and was involved in football, wrestling, and baseball.
After graduating from high school in 2012, Brett furthered his education at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, where he would receive his Bachelor of Science in Finance in 2016. Following college graduation, Brett moved to the Quad Cities area to climb the corporate ladder, eventually becoming a mortgage loan office manager. His free time was spent hanging out with friends or enjoying a relaxing day on the golf course.
Known for his quick-witted sense of humor and his ability to talk to anyone, Brett could always bring a smile to the faces of those around him. Family was very important to him, and he would frequently use his vacation days to drive home to Hartley and Emmetsburg to play cards at the Flynn family farm, which was like a second home to him.
On Thursday, August 8, 2024, Brett passed from this life to his eternal home at the age of 31 years. He is lovingly welcomed by those who have gone before: his grandparents, Eugene and Arlene Flynn and Robert and Ruth Harson.
Keeping his memory close to their hearts are his parents, Ken and Connie Flynn; his brother, Ryan (Holly) Flynn; his sister, Meghan (Patrick) Charbonneau; two nieces: October and Willow Charbonneau; many other relatives and countless friends.
