Obituary of Justin David Thomas

    It is with a heavy heart that our family announces the passing of our beloved Justin. He was born and raised in Colorado and most recently resided in Iowa. 

    He was a graduate of Erie High School in Erie, Colorado, the Denver School of Massage Therapy and the Los Angeles Film School, where he earned a BS in Entertainment Business.  

    Justin lived a full life! He was once known as “DJ Sonic” while in Boulder, Colorado. He lived the mountain lifestyle in Silverthorn, Colorado, as well as the ocean lifestyle in Oahu, Hawaii. His adventures took him to many different places where he enjoyed the thrill of rafting, skydiving, cave-dwelling, and scuba diving. He was author of two screenplays, a songwriter, and an artist. Most recently, he was delving into exploring ghost hunting. 

    Justin is survived by his parents: Michael Thomas, Roxanne Gerdes, and Carl Gerdes; his siblings: Lizabeth Baldivia, Lucretia Thomas, Hannah Thomas, Joanna Gerdes, and Jamin Gerdes; his grandparents: Glen Thomas, Pearle Lombardi, Bernie Lombardi, Margee Upp, and Dick Upp; as well as countless beloved family members and friends. 

    He was preceded in death by his grandparents: John Wright, Dan Gerdes, Peggy Gerdes, and Gloria Morse. 

    We will miss his curiosity, his style, his stories, his sense of humor, how he was so relatable, his ambition, his heart, and his eyes. Justin will always be deeply loved, forever missed, and never forgotten.
