I knew Charlie back in my school administer days. A really "Good Kid". I chatted with him several weeks ago
down town. As an old Army man, I appreciate his Marines service in Viet Nam. My sympathy to his family.

Some great laughs with Charlie in the past! Always a wave and always time to chat in the grocery where I saw him most in later years. He was a kind and gentle soul. My condolences Darlene and Leroy.

We had many many good times when we were younger Charlie. We worked together drank together and hunted together a lot. Just too many memories to list !! We and Darlene will miss you so much Chuck but we will all see each other again when our time comes to go home. We are so proud of you Charlie as a friend , a brother in law to me, and uncle to all your nieces and nephews and a very very proud Marine. RIP Charlie!! LeRoy F. Peters

The most important reason for myself joining the American Legion/VFW, is to pay tribute to our deceased veterans by providing military "honors". On Saturday, we (Legion), will have the privilege of doing that for Charlie. We honor Charlie for his outstanding service and dedication to our country while serving as a United States Marine and being a Vietnam veteran!
Charlie, the last verse of the "Marines' Hymn", states that "If the Army and the Navy ever look on Heaven's scenes, they will find the streets are guarded by United States Marines! I have no doubt that you are up there and with your splendid record, you are already pulling guard duty! If I am fortunate to get to your level someday, I look forward to meeting up with you again! And I hope you aren't insulted by an "Army" guy giving you one last last shout-out, but I do so with the utmost respect and admiration - Semper Fi Marine!!
