Obituary of JoAnne Cynthia Monroy

    JoAnne Cynthia Monroy, daughter of Joe Edward and Mary Jane (Kuhns) Coons, was born October 14, 1952 at Seligman, Arizona. She spent her youth near Seligman, receiving her education there through the 12th grade. Following high school graduation, JoAnne went on to attend beauty school.

    She was united in marriage to Raymond Moats. From this union, two children were born: Tad and Cynthia. After the couple divorced, JoAnne married Gerald Monroy, and her family now included his two children as well: Shawn and Amanda. They later divorced.

    JoAnne’s days were kept busy working as a waitress and caring for her growing family. Her spare time was spent doing different hobbies, or, when the weather cooperated, she loved to go fishing. She liked trying out new recipes and cooked many good things for her family to enjoy. Being a cat lover, there was often a “ball of fur” sitting on her lap whenever she sat down at the end of the day.

    JoAnne passed from this life on Sunday, November 18, 2018 at the age of 66 years. Preceding her in death were her grandparents; and her parents, Joe and Mary Coons.

    Grateful for having shared her life are her children: Tad and his wife, Lacie Moats of Wisconsin, and Cynthia and her husband, Kirk Klaassen of Hartley, Iowa; stepchildren: Shawn Monroy and Amanda Monroy; twelve grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
