Obituary of Della Marie Nelson

    Della Marie Nelson, daughter of Clyde H.W. and Flossie Ann (Kessler) Wadsworth, was born December 10, 1923 in Dunlap, Iowa. She received her education at Lincoln #2, Harrison Township Country School, graduating from the 8th Grade.
    She was united in marriage to Howard Kenneth Nurse at Dunlap. To this union four children were born: Dennis, Linda, Joyce and Stanley. On August 15, 1967, Della married Cecil Wayne Nelson. They farmed together near Royal, Iowa until Wayne’s retirement, when they moved into the town of Hartley, Iowa.
    Living on the farm, Della thoroughly enjoyed gardening and cooking. She found fishing to be relaxing, and collecting antiques a “treasure hunt”. There was always time to spend with Adam and Sam, especially if you could get in a good game of cards. Friends and relatives were never too far away when you were connected with a phone line. Della was a member of the United Methodist Church of Hartley.
    On Saturday, June 9, she passed from this life at the age of 94 years. Preceding her in death were her parents, Clyde and Flossie Wadsworth; infant son and daughter, Stanley and Joyce; four brothers: Fidell Wadsworth, Clarence Wadsworth, William Wadsworth, and Bruce Wadsworth; one sister, Alice Buter.
    Grateful for having shared her life are her children: Dennis and his wife, Denise Nurse of Hartley, Iowa, and Linda Peters of Mitchell, South Dakota; five grandchildren: Travis Peters of South Dakota, Michelle Nurse of Iowa, Michael Peters of Oregon, Mindy Moreno of South Dakota, and Kara Heyn of Iowa; seven great-grandchildren: Anna, Adam, Samuel, Ryatt, Christina, Tasha, and Katerinna; three great-great-grandchildren: Manuel, Maura, and Melanie; her sisters: Florence Crawford of Tallmadge, Ohio, and Ruth Deles Dernier of Jefferson City, Missouri; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
