Obituary of Wilma Rae Elliott

 
    Wilma Rae Elliott, daughter of Louis and Margaret (Deurmier) Schulz, was born on July 30, 1936 at Delmont, SD. She spent her youth in the Delmont area and attended school at Choteau Creek, graduating from Delmont High School with the class of 1954. Following graduation, she furthered her education at Mount Marty College in Yankton, SD, earning her B.A. Degree in Nursing.

    On January 12, 1959, Wilma was united in marriage to Delmar Elliott at Pipestone, MN. They began their married life together at Mission, SD where their four children were born: Michelle, Wayne, Jolynn, and Dean. The family also lived in Winona, MN for a time before settling in Sanborn, IA. Delmar was employed there with AMPI as Plant Manager, while Wilma used her nursing skills at the office of Drs. Getty and Smith in Primghar, IA, Dr. Zoutendam at Sheldon, IA, and at the Prairie View Retirement Campus in Sanborn.

    Wilma was a member of St. Cecilia's Catholic Church in Sanborn, serving with the Altar Society. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting, especially creating afghans. Her grandkids will lovingly remember all her famous "Grandma burns".

    She passed from this life on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at the age of 81. With her passing, she will once again be reunited with her parents, Louis and Margaret Schulz; her husband, Delmar Elliott; and seven sisters.

    Left to cherish her memory are her very special friend, Marion "Jay" Jaycox of Sanborn, IA; her children: Michelle Hunt and Dave Overman of Orange City, IA, Wayne Elliott of Story City, IA, Jolynn McReynolds and Denny Snyder of Webb City, MO, and Dean and Shawn Elliott of Grand Island, NE; ten grandchildren; her sisters: DeDee and Dick Thury, and Ione Fideler; sister-in-law, Bonnie Van De Rostyne; brother-in-law, Fritz Walz; other relatives and dear friends.
