Memorial Tribute George Eugene Heiliger, son of Wilbur and Leta (Merley) Heiliger, was born on August 8, 1927. He lived his youth in Sheldon, IA, and attended public school there. George was employed at Duis Ford and Atkins Standard Service before being call to active duty in the military. Upon his return, he leased the City Service Station in Sheldon, worked at Molmen’s Dairy, and then went into farming. He later purchased the Wiley Mayne building in Sanborn, and remodeled it into the Redwood Lounge, which he and Marlene managed until their retirement. Grateful for having shared his life, are his wife, Marlene; three daughters: Rivonne Alsted, Rixzene Ayers, and Renette Heiliger; two grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. George was preceded in death by his parents.
