Caroline Hazel Kuiper was born April 28, 1919 at Holland, IA, the daughter of Paul and Annie (Siefken) Heronimus. She spent her youth in the Holland and Grundy Center, IA areas where she attended school, graduating from Grundy Center High School in 1937. Caroline furthered her education at Montana State University at Bozeman, MT, and also did two years of post-graduate work at the University of California at Riverside, CA, receiving her Masters Degree in Education and Music.
On July 21, 1937 Caroline was united in marriage to Henry Bode at Holland, IA. To this union, two sons were born: Ronald and Dennis. Caroline's teaching career began at Bozeman, MT where she taught at the Manhattan Christian School for three years. After moving to Ontario, CA, she taught another 20 years there. During this time, she also shared her talents directing high school and church choirs, as music was a major part of her life. Caroline was also an avid bird watcher, enjoying them from her window at Prairie View.
Henry passed away in June of 1971. In 1977, Caroline married Tony Kuiper of Sanborn, IA. They were living in Sanborn when Tony passed away in 1990. Caroline continued to reside in Sanborn following Tony's death. In June of 2010, she moved to Prairie View Nursing Home in Sanborn, where she passed from this life on July 10, 2016 at the age of 97.
