Obituary of Erma Horstman

Memorial Tribute Irma (Erma) Elaine Horstman, the daughter and fifth child of William F. and Josephine M. (Lamont) Horstman, was born on a farm near Cleghorn, IA on March 21, 1927. She attended country school in Cherokee County. Irma loved to attend church, and enjoyed working with, and serving others. She worked until she was eighty years old and was asked to retire against her own wishes. She worked in a sheltered workshop for many years in Hampton, IA. She also lived in Chilicothe, Mo, Des Moines, IA and Watertown, WI. Irma moved to the Community Memorial Health Center on November 1, 2010, and passed away there on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at the age of 88. Left to cherish her memory are her sisters-in-law, Bette Horstman of Marcus, IA, and Betty Horstman of Boone, IA, as well as many loving nieces and nephews. Irma was preceded in death by her parents; and all of her brothers and sisters: Lucille (Clarence) Smith, Esther (Darrell) Miller, Bill Horstman, Gladys (Gene) Heck, Harold Horstman, and a brother and sister who died in infancy.
