Obituary of Harold Laubach

Please share a memory of Harold to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Harold Herman Laubach, the son of John and Katie (Holtman) Laubach, was born November 4, 1926 on a farm near Royal, IA. He spent his youth on a farm near Hartley, IA. On March 15, 1956, Harold was united in marriage to Annetta Beving at the First Reformed Church in Everly, IA. To this union three sons were born: Harlan, Arthur and Lyle. Following their marriage, the couple made their home southeast of Hartley where they were engaged in farming together until his death. Harold was a life-long farmer; working the land, planting and harvesting the crop, and raising livestock was his fulltime job. He shared the farming activities with his brother, William "Willie", who lived near Spencer, IA. Many good times and lasting memories were created during those years. He enjoyed watching NASCAR racing on T.V., driving his M-Farmall in tractor rides, visiting with the guys at the elevator or at auctions, and watching parades. He always looked forward to working at the Clay County Fair in the Fall, helping direct traffic and working security. Harold loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and enjoyed being involved in their lives. He was a kind and gentle man who always thought of others and was concerned about how they were doing. On April 28, 2015, Harold went to be with his Lord and Savior when he passed away at the Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, IA at the age of 88. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 59 years, Annetta, of Hartley, IA; his children: Harlan (Loretta) Laubach of Sanborn, IA, Arthur (Ronda) Laubach of Hartley, IA and Lyle (Melissa) Laubach of Sheldon, IA; grandchildren: Amber (John) Kleve, Courtney Laubach, John Laubach, Brianna Laubach, and Jacob Laubach; two great-grandchildren: Xavier and Kaleb Kleve; one sister, Laura Recher; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceding him in death were his parents; three sisters: Bertha Popp, Otillia Kroger and Gertrude Lenz; four brothers: Ernest, Alfred, William and Adolph Laubach. Celebration of Life Harold H.
