Obituary of Lorraine Davis

Lorraine (Lori) Lynn Davis, 51, passed away at the Sibley Nursing and Rehab Center, in Sibley, Iowa on Thursday, February 5, 2015. Lori was born April 27, 1963 at Sheldon, Iowa, daughter of Bill and the late Cora Davis. Lori, who had special needs, graduated from River Valley School in Rock Valley, Iowa in 1984. She later lived in a number of group and wavier homes throughout Iowa. Her most memorable years were living at Boone, where she was able to work at a Fareway store sorting pop cans. Lori also enjoyed spending the money she earned, especially at garage sales. Lori was noted for being friendly, energetic, outgoing, and she loved to laugh. She had a great memory of people and the details of their lives. She had a special fondness for music, especially the music of John Denver. Lori always looked forward to the special trips with her sister, Annette, and other family members. Lori entered the Sibley Nursing and Rehab Center in June of 2011. Those left to cherish her memory are her parents, Bill and Verna Kay Davis of Sheldon, Iowa, a brother and sister-in-law, Steve Davis and Suzanne Astolfi of Brunswick, Maine, sisters and brothers-in-law, Annette and Dan Janssen of Sibley, Iowa, Julie and Chris Rugg of Longmont, Colorado, and Crystal and Delayne Stallman of Raymond, Iowa. She will also be missed by many nephews, nieces, cousins and the people that attended to her needs throughout her life. She was preceded in death by her mother, Cora Davis, grandparents, Vera and Buzz Whitmer, Charles and Sally Davis, Roy and Hattie Clapsaddle, and Dorothy Lohrman as well as a nephew, Christopher Maxwell Rugg.
