Obituary of Paul Yock

Paul Roger Yock, Sr. was born March 6, 1925 at Tipton, IA to William and Alice (Murray) Yock. He attended grade school and high school in Tipton. Following his school years, Paul enlisted in the United States Army and served his country as an infantryman in World War II. He was honorably discharged on December 15, 1944.
On September 21, 1948, Paul was united in marriage to Lola Mae Klatt at the United Methodist Church Parsonage in Sibley, IA. To this union one son was born, Paul Yock, Jr. Following their marriage, the couple moved to Iowa City, IA where Paul was employed in an automotive parts wholesale house until 1955. The family then moved back to Hartley where Paul worked for the Hartley Creamery until 1969. Following the closing of the creamery, he worked for Burley's Appliance in Hartley, and later, opened his own electrical business.
Paul was a member of the Hartley United Methodist Church, and the Sutherland American Legion Post #152. He enjoyed reading, doing puzzels, woodworking and fishing. Paul passed away on Monday, June 9, 2014 at the Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, IA at the age of 89.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 65 years, Lola; son, Paul Yock, Jr. and his wife, Cathy of Signourney, IA; grandson, Nathan Yock and his wife, Molly, and their son, Joseph of Marne, IA; granddaughter, Leah George and her husband, Jarrod of Albia, IA; brother, Richard Yock and his wife, Ann of Rockford, IL; sister-in-law, Gloria Yock of Mobile, AL; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, William Yock.
