Obituary of Phyllis Fahlenkamp

Phyllis Jean Fahlenkamp was born the daughter of John and Norma Jean (Daugherty) Johnson in Spencer, Iowa on December 1, 1956. She attended Spencer school through the eleventh grade. Her family moved to the Sutherland, Iowa area where she graduated from Sutherland High School. Phyllis met Randy Fahlenkamp in Everly, Iowa, and on June 1, 1986, they were married at the Hartley United Church of Christ. Phyllis and Randy moved to Hospers, Iowa for two years and then moved back to Hartley. In 1995, they moved out to the family farm located near Hartley. Phyllis worked as a waitress, and at the local grocery store, however in 1998, she became disabled due to health problems. She enjoyed her flower garden and spent hours tending to it. She loved to go to flea markets, play video games and most of all, spend time with family and friends. Phyllis was a 'people person', and enjoyed all kinds of social activities. She is survived by her husband, Randy Fahlenkamp of Hartley; two daughters: Aimee Meyer and her husband, Dale of Archer, IA and Randee Fahlenkamp and companion, Greg Hernandez of Sioux Falls, SD; two grandchildren: Catie and Bram Meyer of Archer, IA; one brother, Marion Johnson and his wife, Barbara of Storm Lake, IA; two sisters: Mary O'Hara and her husband, Tom of Minneapolis, MN, Barbara Edwards and her husband, John of Waukegan, IL; and one sister-in-law, Jo Van Hooser of Alta, IA. Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, John and Norma Jean Johnson; her sister, Francis Marshall and her brother, Harland Johnson. Celebration of Life Phyllis J.
