Obituary of Jean Klaver

Jean Elsie Klaver, the daughter of John and Anna (Zonnefeld) Elgersma, was born October 28, 1929 at Primghar, IA. She lived her youth in the Primghar area, and attended the country school there.
On March 19, 1952, Jean was united in marriage to Elmer Klaver of Sanborn, IA at the Christian Reformed Church in Sanborn. Since Elmer was stationed in Florida at the time, serving in the U.S. Air Force, Jean came to live in Sanborn. Following Elmer's tour of duty, the couple began farming the Klaver home place northwest of Sanborn where they raised their two children, Tim and Vicki. In 1998, Elmer and Jean retired after 44 years of life on the farm. Elmer passed away December 13, 2007, and Jean remained in Sanborn. On July 27, 2011, she moved to the Prairie View Nursing Home at Sanborn and passed away there on March 25, 2014 at the age of 84.
Jean was a member of the Christian Reformed Church at Sanborn where she enjoyed singing in the choir and participating in the Ladies Bible Study Group.
She is survived by her children: Tim Klaver of Sanborn; Vickie Van Voorst of Sioux City, IA; two grandchildren: Michael Van Voorst and his son Aaden and Kimberly Van Voorst all of Sioux City; on; one sister-in-law, Ida Andringa of Sheldon; other relatives and friends.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elmer; brothers: Maynard (Tena) Elgersma, Ronald Elgersma, and sister, Elsie Horstman.
