Obituary of Hannah Morfitt

Hannah (Senn) Morfitt, the daughter of John and Bertha (Rudin) Senn was born on July7, 1920 in Harris, IA. She lived out her childhood in the Harris area. She went to country school in Osceola County and was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in May City, IA.
Hannah was united in marriage to Elmo Morfitt on February 24, 1939 in Sibley, IA. The couple were blessed with a daughter, Beverly, a son, Jerry and a foster son, Doug. They farmed in Osceola and O’Brien counties before moving to Hartley in 1951. Hannah worked at various jobs and upon retiring moved to the Iowa Great Lakes for six years. She moved to the Community Memorial Health Center in Hartley in 2001 due to declining health, and passed away there on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at the age of 92.
Hannah loved spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and four brothers: Robert, Max, Gus and Hans; and one sister: Emma Holst.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Beverly Kramme, and her husband, Harold of Hartley, IA, Jerry Morfitt, and his wife, Lisa of Prescott Valley, AZ and Doug Groen, and his wife Barbara of Apple Valley, MN; five grandchildren: Sheri Drahota, and her husband, John of Mc Gregor, MN, Cyndi Sandholm, and her husband, Jay of Sheldon, IA, Monte Kramme, and his wife Angi of Sheldon, IA, Dr.Wendi Morfitt of Phoenix, AZ and Brett Morfitt of Glendale, AZ; twelve great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren; one sister: Betty Morgan of Milford, IA; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
