Obituary of Robert Stallman

Robert John Stallman, the son of Vincent and Margaret (Niichel) Stallman was born near Hospers, IA on November 29, 1931. He spent his younger years on a farm near Hospers and moved with his family to rural Everly, IA in 1944. He was drafted into the United States Army on November 4, 1953 and proudly served his country until he was honorably discharged on November 3, 1955. On November 22, 1961 he was united in marriage to Jennie TenBraak at Luverne, MN. To this union one son was born, Pete. Following their marriage the couple resided on a farm north of Hartley for 27 years where they were engaged in farming together. The couple moved to Hartley in 1988, but he continued to get up everyday and go back to the farm and spend time with his granddaughter. Robert passed away at his home on February 27, 2012 with his family by his side. He had two special interests in life, one was farming and the other was his granddaughter Emily. He awoke early everyday to get started doing both. He loved being at the farm in the morning and watching Emily get on the bus to go to school. Robert is survived by his wife Jennie of 50 years; one son Pete (Charlene) Stallman and their daughter Emily of rural Everly, IA; other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents; two brothers: Arnold and Richard Stallman.
