Obituary of Catherine Stallman

Catherine Ann (Horst) Stallmann, the daughter of Charles and Geneva (Burns) Horst, was born in Worthington, MN, on June 22, 1932. She spent her childhood years in the Worthington, MN and Sanborn, IA, areas, and graduated from Sanborn High School. She was united in marriage to Arnold “Arnie” Stallmann on August 2, 1954, at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church in Sanborn, IA. To this union four children were born, William, Shirley, Jim and Margaret. Following their marriage the couple lived in Hartley, IA until moving to a farm southwest of Sanborn where they were engaged in farming for many years. She was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church of Sanborn, IA. Catherine moved with Arnie to the Prairie View Nursing Home in Sanborn on March 2, 2009 and passed away there on January 9, 2012 at the age of 79. Catherine is survived by her children, William Stallmann of Sanborn, IA, Shirley Klatt of Sheldon, IA, Jim Stallmann and his wife, Judy, of Sanborn, IA, and Margaret Smith and her husband, Carter, of Farnhamville, IA; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; four siblings: Mary Jungers of Hawarden, IA, Jim Horst and his wife, Marge, of Spencer, IA, Margret Pry and her husband, Harold, of Hawarden, IA, a brother: Norene Petrich and her husband, Scott, of Storm Lake, IA; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Arnold; her in-laws Vincent & Margret Stallmann.
