Irvin Edward Riedemann, the son of Edward and Louise (Zinn) Riedemann, was born at Hartley, IA on March 17, 1917. His childhood years were spent in the rural Hartley area where he attended country school.
On September 1, 1946, Irvin was united in marriage to Billie Gathman in Hartley, IA. To this union four daughters were born: Stephanie, Deborah, Christine and Paula. Following their marriage the couple farmed around the Hartley area and finally settled on a farm south of Hartley. Irvin was active in farming, hauling livestock and grain for local farmers. Irvin moved off the farm and lived at the Prairie View Nursing Home in Sanborn the past four years; he passed away suddenly on Thursday, August 11, 2011 at the age of 94 at the Spencer Hospital.
He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hartley. Irvin was a member of a local Harness Club and enjoyed working his horses at various events. In 1990 he and Billie were named King and Queen of the Thresher’s Bee. He loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Billie; an infant sister; and a son-in-law Bill Rogister.
