On August 12, 1967, she was united in marriage to Dennis Nurse in Wausa, NE. From Wausa they moved a couple of times, as Dennis was in the U.S. Army. They then moved to Omaha, NE, where they made their home for 4 years, having two daughters, Michelle and Kara. After Kara was born, they moved to Hartley, IA.
Carol loved Nebraska football, gardening, oil painting, bowling, and sewing throughout her life. She was baptized and was a member of the Thabor Lutheran Church in Wausa, NE, as a child and a member of the United Methodist Church when she lived in Hartley. Carol had multiple sclerosis most of her adult life. Although she lived in nursing homes for the last 20 years, it didn't stop her from doing the things she loved.
