Obituary of Ronald Lester

Memorial Tribute Ronald “RII” Dean Lester, Jr., the son of Ron and Sheryle (Stevens) Lester, was born in Boone, Iowa on March 28, 1969. He spent his childhood years in Ogden, Iowa, where he attended the local school. He later received his GED. In 1986 he married Nancy Peters, and they were blessed with two children, JoAnna and Donald. Since 2001, Ron has shared his life with Sheila (Jacobs) Ross, and together they have one son, Chance. They currently made their home in Melvin, Iowa. Ron worked for several different companies including Bagel Works in Ames, Iowa, H & S Roofing in Spencer, Iowa, and Stylecraft in Milford, Iowa. From 2005 through 2010, he worked for various hog confinements around the area. Most recently, he was employed by Rozenboom’s in Spirit Lake, Iowa. Ron was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, Harley Davidson motorcycles, hunting, camping and cooking. Following a courageous battle with lung cancer, he passed away at his home in Melvin on Saturday, November 20, 2010 at the age of 41. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Donald Lester, his maternal grandparents, Dean and Gladys Stevens, and a step-daughter, Courtney Conry. Survivors include his life partner, Sheila, of Melvin; his children, JoAnna (Mike) Schumm of Oahu, Hawaii, Donald Smith of Leesville, Louisiana, and Chance Lester of Melvin; three grandchildren, Makenzye Schumm, Emery Cammann and Madison Cammann; two stepchildren, Tori (Cody) Ross and Patrick Conry; his parents, Ron and Sheryle Lester; two sisters, Stacey (Roger) Monthei and Julie (Tim) Perkins; his grandmother Marge Lester; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
