Please share a memory of Lee to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Lee John Meiske, the son of John and LaVaughn (Lill) Meiske, was born on November 19, 1958 in Hartley, Iowa. He was baptized on December 10, 1958 and confirmed June 10, 1973 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hartley where he continued to be a member. Lee attended the Hartley Community Schools and graduated from Hartley High School in 1977. He participated in FFA and Swing Choir while in high school. Lee loved mechanics and cars. He was employed at Arlo’s Service Station during his high school years. He had planned to enroll at Alexandria Technical College at Alexandria, Minnesota in the diesel program until the accident of October 26, 1977. After several months of hospitalization, he became a resident of the Hartley Community Memorial Hospital. Lee enjoyed listening to many sporting events including NASCAR racing. He enjoyed listening to music, scripture readings and devotions. He loved all the special attention and visits throughout the year but especially on his birthday. God had a plan for Lee and he touched many lives. They loved his smile. Lee was blessed to have had compassionate ministers, doctors, caregivers, family and friends. Lee gave us all the opportunity to realize how precious life is. Lee passed away on Monday, May 31, 2010 at the Hartley Community Memorial Health Center with his family present.
