I never had the joy of meeting William (Bill) Muilenburg, but he has had a presence in my house since I was a priest in Sanborn, Hartley, Primghar, and Sutherland, 2001-2005. I had the good fortune to buy two beautiful crosses handcrafted by Bill, each using different, and beautiful woods. I just moved to Sheridan, Montana, an was hanging one of the crosses on my wall, and read the back, reminding me that it was indeed handcrafted by Wm. Muilenburg. I recalled that when he made these crosses, Bill had cancer, and I just checked on line to see if he had died. Indeed, he had. Dear Bill, known to me only through the beautiful work of your hands, rest in the peace and joy of our LORD Jesus Christ, my friend--and Semper Fi!
