Randy Rae Schoelerman the son of Merlyn and Donna (Tesch) Schoelerman was born on June 17, 1958 at Hartley, IA. He grew up on a farm south of Hartley and attended school in Hartley, graduating from Hartley High School in 1976. Randy went on to attend Iowa State University in Ames and was enrolled in a farm program. Randy returned to the family farm and farmed with his father for many years. Randy was a people person always willing to help in any way he could and it showed in how involved he was with daily life. He served on many boards including CEA Elevator Board, Great lakes Elevator Board, Iowa Pork Producers, and as a Township Trustee. He was a Ducks Unlimited Sponsor for 20 years. Randy belonged to the Harley Davidson (HOGG) group from Algona as well as ABATE. He was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ. Randy was a very proud member of Alcoholic Anonymous for 17 years. His final token of giving was being a donor for the Iowa Lions Bank. Randy passed away at the Avera Spencer Hospital in Spencer, IA on March 20, 2010 at the age of 51. He enjoyed riding his motorcycles, farming, watching movies and collecting them, traveling and watching NASCAR races. Randy will always be remembered for being a very loving and caring person to his family and friends. Randy is survived by his father Merlyn Schoelerman and his wife Karmen of May City, IA; a sister: Ronda (Robert) Hartje of Storm Lake, IA; three nephews: Matthew (Megan) Sease of Ankeny, IA, Paul Sease of West Des Moines, IA, and Andy Sease of Brookings, SD; a grandmother; Nola Tesch of Hartley, IA; a step brother: Jim (Joye) Noonan of Bondurant, IA; four step sisters: Jean (John) Landsveck of Denver, CO, Julie (Ted) Aberiotes of Golden, CO, Patty (Danna) Andersen of Glenwood Springs, CO, and Erin Noonan of Iowa City, IA; a special friend Donna Louwrens of South Carolina; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, both grandfathers and one grandmother. In Loving Memory of Randy R.
