Obituary of Lucille Mayou

Lucille Bertha Mayou, the daughter of Bertha (Wills) and Chris Rinck, was born on March 2, 1917, at Sanborn, Iowa. She spent her childhood years in rural Sanborn, and attended the Lincoln Township country school.
She married Elmer (Bill) Mayou on June 14, 1954, and together they made their home in Hartley, in the house where Lucille’s parents had lived. She worked at the creamery in Hartley, and then for many years candled eggs at a laying facility south of Hartley.
Lucille enjoyed visiting with people, playing cards, and traveling around the area playing BINGO and visiting casinos along with her sister, Alice. She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ.
Survivors include her sister, Alice Boetel of Hartley; a stepson, Wally Mayou of Texas; a stepson-in-law, Verlyn Jipson of Arnold’s Park, Iowa; a cousin, Cloy Albert of Hartley; many step grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill; a brother and sister-in-law, Gilbert and Helen Rinck; a brother in infancy; a step-daughter, Marie Jipson; a step-son, Raymond Mayou; two step-grandsons.
