Obituary of Eugene Langfitt

Eugene Albert Langfitt, the son of Frances (Koenck) and Albert Langfitt was born on January 31, 1949 in Spencer, Iowa. He grew up in Ocheyedan, Iowa, where he attended the local school. He earned his GED in 1977. On December 19, 1970 Gene married Joyce Isenhower. Three children were born to this union: Rochelle, Tamara and Wesley. He married Ann Wogstad on March 17, 2000. The couple made their home in Hartley, Iowa. They were blessed with three children: Riki, Traci and Jayson. Ann passed away on April 14, 2007. Gene had a lifelong career in plastics engineering, working for various companies throughout the years. He had a passion for anything made with injection molding. He was a self-taught “whiz” with computers, and was known for his quick wit and one-liners. He loved any old country music, especially Johnny Cash. He was a huge fan of John Wayne and old westerns. Gene passed away at his home in Hartley on June 4, 2009. He was 60. Left to cherish his memory are his children: Rochelle Langfitt and her friend Casey Ball of Des Moines, Iowa, Wesley Langfitt and his wife Esther of Davenport, Iowa, Riki, Traci and Jayson Langfitt of Sheldon, Iowa, and Leeja Miller of Mound, Minnesota; four grandchildren: Hayden, Isaiah, Abbi and Paige; six brothers: Ernie (Cheryl), Leonard (Judy), John, James, Richard and Allan Langfitt, and three sisters: Arlene Kempf, Alberta (Bill) Hansen, and Shirley (Ned) Toponce. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter Tamara, his wife Ann, and his brother Herman. A Celebration of Life Eugene A.
