Obituary of Terry Leth

Memorial Tribute Terry Lee Leth, the son of Lucille "Dolly" (Kunst) and Albert "Slats" Leth, was born on January 20, 1957 at Hartley, Iowa. He grew up in Hartley, and graduated with honors from Hartley High School in 1975. Terry lived his entire life in Hartley. During his employment at the Paullina Tile Factory in Paullina, Iowa, he met his future wife, Pamela Kay Thomas. The couple was married on September 20, 1975 at the Presbyterian Church in Paullina. For the next 20 years, Terry was employed at Sorenson Farm Drainage in Hartley. He worked at Russell's Ready Mix in Orange City, Iowa, for two years, and was currently employed by the city of Spirit Lake, Iowa. He passed away at the Sanford Sheldon Hospital on November 16, 2008 at the age of 51, following a five-month battle with colon cancer. Terry was an avid pool shooter, and was president of the Spencer area pool league. He loved outdoor sports such as hunting and fishing, camping, and riding his motorcycle, "Betsy". He enjoyed trips to the casino with his brothers, and cherished the time spent with his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Pam; his children: Joshua Leth of Hartley, Tiffany and her husband Mark Nasers of Sibley, Iowa, and Codi and her husband Tom Clarken of Ruthven, Iowa; his grandchildren: Savannah and Ava Leth of Ruthven, Wyatt Klaahsen and Jochum Wollmuth of Sibley, Austin, Sabrina, Lisa and Rose Clarken of Ruthven; five brothers: Ray (Elaine) Brehmer of South Dakota, Ronald (Marge) Brehmer, Dennis (JoAnn) Leth, Richard (Carol) Leth, and Jerry (Susie) Leth, all of Hartley, and one sister Sally Steffens of Cleghorn; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother Jack Brehmer; grandson Ethan Klaahsen; nephew Shawn Brehmer; great niece Desiree Crist; Pam's parents George and Pearl Thomas; and two brothers-in-law, Bill Peters and Alvin Steffens.
