Memorial Tribute
Marjorie Jean (Berry) Back, the daughter of Clair and Ilene (Weist) Berry, was born on June 16, 1938 at Hartley, IA in O’Brien County. She spent her childhood on the family farm near Primghar. She first attended country school, and later Hartley High School.
She was united in marriage to Arthur Back on October 24, 1959 at Hartley, IA. They were blessed with four children: Suzann, Colleen, Elizabeth, and Michael. Throughout their marriage, the couple farmed their family farm near Hartley, and later moved into town. Marge worked as a Registered Nurse for over 40 years.
Her many interests included birdwatching, scrapbooking, gardening, baking, NASCAR racing, PRCA Rodeo, traveling. She was an avid snowmobiler, and especially loved the Black Hills. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and UMW Circle, Bible Study, and Eastern Star. Marge’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren were very special to her. She passed away at Community Memorial Health Center in Hartley on July 29, 2008 at the age of 70.
Survivors include her children and their families: Suzann (Dan) Fieseler of Lexington, KY, Colleen (Donald) Bobzien of Hartley, IA, Elizabeth Harkness of Hawarden, IA, and Michael Back of Primghar, IA; eight grandchildren: Nichole (Ben) Shafer, Mandy (John) Garrison, Amber (James) Courtney, Jeremy Bobzien, Amanda Bobzien, Kelsey Harkness, Matthew Back and Clairissa Back; four great-grandchildren: Makayla Courtney, Anthony Courtney, Nathan Garrison, and Coleman Shafer; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Art on April 3, 2007, and one sister, Janet.
