Obituary of Mary Morfitt

Mary (Ramsey) Morfitt, the daughter of Henry and Florence (Stribe) Ramsey, was born on August 21, 1920 in Hartley, Iowa. She spent her youth in the Hartley area, where she attended Hartley Public School graduating in 1936. Following her school years Mary went on to attend and graduate from Morningside College in Sioux City. In 1942, she married Orlynn Morfitt. After Orlynn returned from serving his country in WW II, the couple made their home on the family farm south of Hartley. The couple was blessed with two children: Jerry and Roxie. Mary moved to Poplar Bluff, MO in 1979 and in 1990 moved to Raleigh, NC. She went to be with her Lord on May 31, 2008 at the age of 87. Left to cherish her memory are her children: son: Jerry Morfitt and his wife, Allison, of Salem, OR, daughter: Roxie Cash, of Raleigh, NC; and four grandchildren: Emily, Andrew, Jeffrey and Ben; as well as other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Orlynn in 1970. Mary was a member of the Eastern Star and loved to do cross word puzzles, play bridge and other card games, baking and growing flowers. In Remembrance of Mary H.
