Lisa Lynn Lyman, the daughter of Douglas and Cathy (Van Veldhuizen) Lyman was born on August 27, 1980 in Hartley, IA. She spent her childhood years in Sanborn. She was educated in the local schools and graduated from Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn High School in 1998. She then earned an Associate’s Degree in Nursing at NCC in Sheldon, IA. Lisa was first employed as an RN at Prairie View Nursing Home in Sanborn, and was currently a staff nurse at Select Specialty Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. At one time she was a member of the Sanborn Ambulance Team. Lisa enjoyed scrapbooking, woodworking, music, camping, fishing, spending time with her niece and nephews, and her beloved dogs, Rufus, Riley and Otis. She was a member of Sanborn First Reformed Church. Wherever she went, Lisa was loved and respected by her patients and co-workers. She was a very caring person who had a huge heart for others in need. She passed away at her home in Sioux Falls on Friday, November 2 at the age of 27. Left to cherish her memory are her parents, Doug and Cathy Lyman of Sanborn, one brother Mark Lyman of Sanborn, one sister Lori and her husband Brandon Mason and their children: Taylor, Austin and Tristan of Webster City; her grandparents, Leila Lyman and Ivan and Harriet Van Veldhuizen, all of Sanborn; many aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as many friends. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Bernard Lyman and her great-grandparents.
