Billie Suzanne (Vezina) Robinson, the daughter of William R., Jr. and Doris Carolyn (Kelley) Vezina , was born at Hartley, IA on May 6, 1946. She grew up in the Hartley area and attended Hartley Community School, graduating in 1964. She went on to attend St. Vincent’s Hospital in Sioux City and graduated as a Lab Technician. Billie was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, where she was both baptized and confirmed.
She was united in marriage to Edward Robinson on August 21, 1965 at Trinity United Church of Christ in Hartley. Following their marriage, the couple began working at the Hartley Sentinel and Everly-Royal News, where Billie achieved the highest honor from the Iowa Newspaper Association, Master-Editor Publisher in 1991. Billie passed away September 30, 2007 at Rochester Methodist Hospital in Rochester, MN at the age of 61.
Billie enjoyed spending time at the Lakes relaxing and visiting with family and friends. In her earlier years, she would also water ski and fish. Most of all, she loved to work at the Sentinel with her husband and son.
She was one of the founding members of the Tritonia Club and was also a member of the Eastern Star in her youth. She was a life-long member of the Hartley Hospital, Health Center Auxillary, and Hartley Chamber of Commerce.
Billie is survived by her husband, Edward of Hartley; her son, Will Robinson of Hartley; a sister, Carolyn Kay Wilson of Nocona, TX; a brother, Kelley Vezina and his wife Mary of Cedar Rapids, IA; several nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by a son, Andrew Robinson; her paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William Kelley of Hartley, and Mr. and Mrs. W.R. Vezina, Sr. of Wisconsin; a sister and brother-in-law, Maxine and Richard Robinson of Denver, CO; and a brother-in-law, James A. Wilson of Lismore, MN.
