John "Jack" William Williams, the son of Delbert and Irene (Kriens) Williams, was born August 22, 1930 at Primghar, IA. He spent his youth on a farm near Pipestone, MN, then moved with his family to O'Brien and Cherokee counties; attending country schools in those areas. On June 4, 1949, Jack was united in marriage to Mary Kledis at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cherokee, IA. Five children were born to this union. Jack's talent for working with his hands led him to his career as a brick mason. He was the founder of Iowan Camper Manufacturing out of Cherokee, eventually continuing his masonry work at Spirit Lake, IA. Later on, Jack worked for his brother, Junior Williams, and his nephews, Rick and Todd, at Williams and Sons Masonry out of San Diego, CA. Jack had an interest in old cars and collecting and selling antiques. He loved telling stories and being with his family. He will be greatly missed. Jack passed from this life on Friday, August 7, 2015 at the Community Memorial Health Center in Hartley, IA at the age of 84. He was preceded in death by his son, John Nicholas Williams; brothers: Maynard Sass, Jim Williams, Junior Williams, Jerry Williams; and one sister, Betty Hinrichsen. Jack is survived by his children: Douglas J. (Margo) Williams of Orono, MN, Michael D. (Ilze) Williams of Sedalia, CO, Christin W. (Mitchel) Morey of Plymouth, MN, Gregory G. (Roberta) Williams of Spirit Lake, IA; grandchildren: Doug (Therese) Williams II of New York, NY, Jay (Jessica) Williams of Golden, CO, Justin Williams of Denver, CO, Steven (Jenessa) Schwartz of Orono, MN, Natalie Williams of Orono, MN, Nick Williams of Houston, TX, Alex Williams of Iowa City, IA, William Morey of Plymouth, MN, Spencer Williams of Orono, MN, and Gregory Morey of Plymouth, MN; great-grandchildren: Matthew, Margaret and Morgan Williams of Golden, CO, Isabella and Charlotte Williams of New York, NY, and Thurston Schwartz of Orono, MN; sisters: Bonnie Longfellow of Mesa, AZ, and Beverly Bignell of San Diego County, CA; other relatives and friends.
