Obituary of Lawrence Moser

Please share a memory of Lawrence to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Lawrence Elwood Moser, son of Lee and Edna (Hansen) Moser, was born near Larchwood, IA on November 4, 1937. The second of seven children, he lived with his family on the farm until he was about 10 years old. At that time, they moved into the town of Larchwood while continuing to farm the ground. Lawrence attended country school, completing his education in town through the 8th grade. When he was around 13 years old, he contracted polio. He continued to help his father on the farm, and later worked as a hired hand near Lester, IA. Around the age of 21, he lived with a farmer for three years while working as his hired man. Lawrence also drove truck and hauled gravel. In 1963, Lawrence met Grace Teunissen on a blind date. They were married on August 12, 1966, and began their life together in Rock Rapids, IA. They were blessed with four sons: Greg, Brian, Jason, and Kirk. They later moved to Lester, and then to Sioux Center, IA. In 1973, Lawrence began working for AMPI Creamery in Sioux Center until its closing. He then transferred to the AMPI plant in Sanborn in 1976, retiring from there in February, 1990. Lawrence and Grace enjoyed their retirement years fishing and camping whenever they could, and spending time with their children and beloved grandchildren. Lawrence moved to Prairie View in January 2005 after experiencing post-polio symptoms, and in 2007, Grace moved there as well. Lawrence always enjoyed the people around him and loved to joke around with the staff. Lawrence passed away at the Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD, on January, 10, 2013 at the age of 75. He was a member of the First Reformed Church in Sanborn.
