Obituary of Dorothy Cooper

Dorothy Beatrice (Ische, Weise) Cooper was born in Belle Plaine, MN on May 9, 1923 to Fredrick and Beatrice (Chard) Wolfram. She spent her childhood years in Belle Plaine and graduated from Jordan Public Schools. Dorothy attended Mankato Normal School and was employed as a rural school teacher. On September 1, 1943 she married Harvey Ische and together they raised three children: Terry, Robert, and Nancy. Harvey passed away in 1960. In 1961 Dorothy married Clinton Cooper and moved to his farm in Hartley, IA. Clinton’s children were: Claudette Hourigan, Connie Riedemann, Charles Cooper, and Craig Cooper. Clinton passed away in 1975. Dorothy married Ben Weise in June 1983. Ben’s children were: Jane Lee and Ben Weise. Ben passed away in December 1983. Dorothy passed away on January 17, 2012 at the Community Memorial Assisted Living in Hartley, IA. Dorothy is survived by her son, Terry Ische of Burnsville, MN, his wife, Kathy Knoblauch and their two sons, Nathan and Daniel; sisters, Jan Smith of Maple Grove, MN and Barbara Domras of Kasota, MN, grandson D.G. Ische of Santa Cruz, CA and granddaughter Makeba Ische of Mankato, MN and their mother Chris Christie of Mankato, MN; numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins; sisters-in-law Millie Henrikson of Lakeville, MN and Violet Yahnke of Le Sueur, MN; step-daughter Connie Riedemann of Hartley, IA; step-son Charles Cooper; step-son Craig Cooper; step-daughter Jane Lee; step-son Ben Weise; amazing neighbors Kathy and Tom Rieck and their family; and many much-loved friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband Harvey Ische, her second husband Clinton Cooper, her third husband Ben Weise, her son Robert, her daughter Nancy, her sister Fern Coleman, and her step-daughter Claudette Hourigan. Dorothy was a member of the Hartley Methodist Church. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, cooking, reading, wintering in Mesa, AZ, walking, doing water aerobics, playing cards, dominoes, and spending time with family and friends.
