Obituary of Josephine Gonnerman

Josephine Irene Gonnerman was born on March 16, 1924, in Pergum, Nebraska to Jacob and Ethel (Herbaugh) Rausch. Growing up Josephine lived in four different states with her parents. On May 13, 1942 Josephine was united in Marriage to Charles Lester Gonnerman in La Crosse, Wisconsin. To this union four children were born: Susan, Michael, Steven and Rebecca. Following their marriage Charles and Josephine farmed for many years north of Everly before moving to Hartley where she was a Nurse’s Aide. She then worked for Brown Medical industries until she retired. Josephine passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at the age of 87 at the Sutherland Care Center in Sutherland, IA. Josephine was a member of the Hartley United Methodist Church. She loved bird watching, puppies and playing cards with family and friends. She is survived by two daughters: Susan Muilenburg and her husband, Cliff, of Superior, IA and Rebecca Haynes of Donna, TX; daughter-in-law: Doris Gonnerman Welle of Arnolds Park, IA; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Josephine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles Gonnerman; two sons: Michael and Steven Gonnerman; granddaughter: Trisha Jo Muilenburg; three brothers and three sisters.
