Scott Henry Hall, age 72, of Melvin, IA, passed away in his home on May 5, 2026. Scott was born on February 25, 1954, to Lavern “Breezy” and Grace (Johnson) Hall of Lakefield, Minnesota.

    For the majority of his life, Scott made his living as an over-the-road truck driver, spending much of his life behind the wheel. Outside of work, he had a lifelong passion for horses and a deep love for his canine companions. In recent years, he was inseparable from his beloved dog, Bandit, and later found that same constant companionship with his dog, Winston, who went everywhere by his side.

    He is survived by his children: son Jason Hall and grandson Jordan Hall; son Nathan “Norm” (Tawn) Hall and grandchildren Candence and Kyler Hall; daughter Deanne Hall (AJ Simenson) and grandsons Braxsten Hall, Axel, and Huxley Simenson, all of Lakefield, MN. He is also survived by his brother, Lawrence “Larry” (LaVona) Hall of Sanborn, IA; sisters, Ruth Gentry (Steve “Booker” Kasper) of Chisholm, MN, and Lori (Roland) Figueroa of Olympia, WA; sister-in-law, Carla Hall of Jackson; nephews, Matthew Hall, Shawn Petersen, Casey Hall, Terran, Taylor, and Travis Gentry, Roland Jr. and Lance Figueroa; and nieces, Melissa “Missy” Petersen, Michelle Hall, and April Konz.

    A special mention is made of close family friends and neighbors, Mike and Amy, Bryce, Ethan, and Reed Baker of Melvin. Scott viewed the Bakers as more than neighbors; he viewed them as family.

    Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Lavern “Breezy” Hall and Grace Heine; brother, Gary Hall; brother-in-law, Brad Gentry; and beloved dog, Bandit.
