Memorial Tribute

    Brent Lee Elgersma, son of Jack L. Elgersma and Nancy K. (Kroese) Iverson, was born on December 20, 1974, in Primghar, IA.

    He spent his youth in the Sanborn, IA area where he received his education, graduating from Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn High School with the class of 1993. Following high school, Brent worked construction for various companies in the surrounding area. After years in construction, he entered the automotive field as a mechanic and co-owner of Don’s Automotive Service, a mechanic and truck driver at AMPI, and moonlighted as a personal family mechanic. 

    On October 28, 2005, Brent was blessed with a beautiful daughter, Heather Mae Elgersma. She was a little bundle of joy who brought much love into his life.

    Brent had a well-known wild side and a passion for anything on wheels. He enjoyed riding his Harley, racing, wrenching on cars and spending time with his dogs. Those who knew him best knew he could fix anything with a motor, had a willingness to help, and was always ready to try new things without hesitation.

    On Thursday, March 26th at 1:30 a.m., Brent passed from this life at the age of 51. He was greeted in heaven by his father, Jack Elgersma; sister, Betheny Buren; grandparents, aunts and uncles.

    Keeping his memory close at heart are his daughter, Heather Elgersma; his mother, Nancy (Keith) Iverson; brother, Shane (Lanea) Elgersma; sister, Shannon (Brian) Letsche; brother-in-law, Brian Buren; girlfriend, Kelsy Richard; many nieces and nephews as well as a host of other relatives and dear friends.
