Brenda Jean (Brockmann) Bracewell Obituary

Brenda Jean Brockmann Bracewell, was born on November 12, 1969, in Spencer, Iowa. She was the first daughter of three born to Donald and Rebecca (Moeller) Brockmann.

As a child, Brenda grew up enjoying her grandparent’s farm with horses. She learned early how to take care and love the animals.  As she grew older and in grade school, she was quickly recognized in the talented and gifted, (TAG) program as an achiever, if not, even an overachiever. When starting high school, she was involved in a fund-raising event for the Cystic Fibrosis cause by knocking on doors and ending up ranking fourth in the state in funds raised.  In 1985, this and other personal qualities put her in the running for the Miss Iowa Teen Pageant in Newton, Iowa. Out of 140 candidates she made it into the final 12.

She participated in all sports in high school and was on many winning teams. Including two trips to state in 6 on 6 basketball in 1987 and ‘88. Additionally, playing on Buena Vista University volleyball and softball teams. Brenda also excelled in music, beautifully playing the alto saxophone and piano.

She entered Buena Vista University in 1988 and graduated in 1992 with a double major in just 4 years. She then entered the field of auto finance lasting over 30 years working for a variety of dealerships.

Brenda has dedicated everything to her loving son, Brock, for all his 13 years by providing high-quality education along with his involvement in religious instructions, including his re-baptism this past April.

Brenda was known as an "overachiever" in almost everything she attempted. She always took the extra step forward in problem solving. She was ALWAYS helping her family with simple and yet difficult advice.

Brenda loved blasting Trisha Yearwood songs, petting any horse she could find, traveling the United States, and thrived on fun and laughter with family and friends.

Finally, she will mostly be remembered to have championed being a child, grandchild, a sister, a daughter, a wife, a mother, a friend to all... but most importantly... a child of God.

On Sunday, January 18, 2026 Brenda unexpectedly passed away from this life to her home in Heaven. She was 56 years of age. There to greet her were her grandparents: Erwin and Katherine Brockmann, Art and Gladys Moeller, her Uncle Ronny Moeller and Uncle David Whade, her Aunt Linda Brockmann and her cousin Karen Eppard.

She is remembered and cherished by her son: Brock David; parents: Don and Becky Brockmann; Sisters: Julie and Sharon Brockmann, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
