Memorial Tribute
Lois Arlene Deiterman was born on Thanksgiving Day, November 27, 1930, in George, IA, the daughter of Harry and Cecelia (Dengler) Wacker. She was made a child of God through the Sacrament of Baptism on February 17, 1931, at Christ Lutheran Church in Alvord, IA, and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Peace Lutheran Church in Rock Rapids, IA on June 24, 1945. She attended country school in Lyon County through the 8th grade, then completed her education at Rock Rapids, IA, graduating from high school in 1948.
On March 6, 1949, Lois was united in marriage to Leon Charles Bobolz in Sutherland, IA. The couple was engaged in farming in the Sutherland and Hartley. Leon passed away unexpectedly on April 7, 1976.
Despite the blustery, snowy day, Lois and Raymond Peter Deiterman were married at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hartley, IA on December 2, 1980. They lived on Ray’s family farm north of Sutherland and were stewards of that land for many years. Lois had always enjoyed farm life and having had the opportunity to work alongside her husbands, Leon and Ray, helping out where she could. Along with the demands each day presented, Lois also found time to teach Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and confirmation classes. She was always there to help her daughters with their 4-H projects and encourage all her kids in their many school activities. Relaxing hours were spent fishing or bowling with her friends on Thursday night Women’s league. In their retirement, Ray and Lois enjoyed time at Lake Okoboji in the summer, and sunny, southern Texas in the winter.
Following Ray’s death on December 3, 2002, Lois remained on their farm until 2010, when she moved to Spencer, IA. Eventually, she became a resident of Riverview Terrace Assisted Living, and then St. Luke Lutheran Home, both located in Spencer. Stitching, jigsaw puzzles, games and puzzle books kept her busy and alert. Lois was always proud to say she had earned another drivers license at age 92! As recently as this past fall, she had won five blue ribbons for her craft projects at the Clay County Fair and gladly showed them off to anyone who stopped by to visit.
On Thursday, November 20, 2025, Lois passed from this life at the age of 94 years. She now joins loved ones who had gone before: her parents, Harry and Cecelia Wacker; husbands: Leon Bobolz and Raymond Deiterman; and her brother, Vyron (Mary) Wacker.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Randy (Janice) Bobolz of Albert City, IA; daughters: Rita (Richard) Watson of Yorba Linda, CA, and Janna (Jerry Wolfskill) Willnauer of Overland Park, KS; granddaughter, Jill Bobolz and children: Megan and Brady of Spencer, IA; grandsons: Robert (Keisha) Bobolz and daughter, Peyton of Mason City, IA, Kody (Brittani) Willnauer and children: Kohl and Karaline of Tonganoxi, KS, Kasey (Cassie) Willnauer and children: Ellie and Ezra of Greenwood, MO; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
