Memorial Tribute Dorothy J. (Webber) Nelson, age 91, of Bedford, Texas, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2016 with her daughter, Donna, by her side. Dorothy was born on June 30, 1925 near Melvin, Iowa to John O. Webber and Minnie (Storm) Webber. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Sanborn, Iowa. Dorothy attended rural schools in O'Brien county until moving to Clarkfield, Minnesota at the age of 12, then returned to Iowa with her family in 1954. Over the years, she has lived in the Iowa towns of Sanborn, Everly, Hartley, Spencer and Ft. Dodge before moving to Texas to reside near her daughter. Dorothy attended Iowa Lakes Community College, and graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Housing. She served as the Director of Mid Iowa Regional Housing Authority in Ft. Dodge for many years, while residing in Barnum, Iowa. Dorothy enjoyed crafts, painting, gardening, cooking, traveling and spending time with her family. She is survived by her three children: Joan Klekacz West of Marion, Iowa, Roger Klekacz of Leavenworth, Kansas, and Donna Klekacz (Richard) Winburn of Bedford, Texas; eight grandchildren: Dale West, Connie Earl, Kathy West, Julia Hendred, Chelsey Fiske, Tia Carpenter, Andy Klekacz and Tim Klekacz; sixteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents, John and Minnie Webber; her brothers: Donald and Raymond Webber; sister-in-law, Murine Webber; her husbands: Jacob Klekacz and Carl Nelson; and stepdaughter, Barb Nelson.
