Obituary of Mindy Witham

Please share a memory of Mindy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Memorial Tribute Mindy Lynn Witham, daughter of Ken and Helen (Sorensen) Wimmer, was born February 22, 1978 in Hartley, IA. She spent her youth in Melvin, IA and received her education at Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn, graduating with the class of 1996. Mindy attended Northwest Community College in Sheldon, IA, receiving her administrative secretarial degree in May of 1997. Following her graduation from NCC, Mindy continued to work as an administrative secretary for the college for over 18 years. She loved her job, and dearly loved her NCC family. Mindy’s life purpose was being a mommy. Her son, Brenden Shane Witham, was the light of her life, and the source of endless smiles. She also was a very proud aunt to her niece and nephews, and made it a point to be a part of their lives. It didn't matter if it was cheering at ball games, reading books, having late night talks with the boys, or creating memories with her "mini-me", Lauren Faith...she was their biggest fan. Throughout her life, Mindy found great satisfaction playing the piano and organ, and was happy to share her talent with many churches in the area. She also enjoyed going to races and derbies with Brenden and friends. Spending time with family and friends was something Mindy loved to do, therefore, a very important part of her life. Many lasting memories have been created for all who knew and loved her. She will always be remembered for her deep devotion to her family and her son. Mindy passed from this life on Monday, March 28, 2016 at her home in Melvin. Thankful for having shared her life are her son, Brenden of Little Rock, IA; her parents, Ken and Helen Wimmer of Melvin, IA; her brother and sister-in-law, Aaron and Rebecca Wimmer and their children: Seth, Micah, and Lauren of Sioux Falls, SD; grandpa, Ralph Wimmer of Fairmont, MN; Brenden’s daddy, Tom Witham of Little Rock, IA; Llyn and Peg Sorensen, Mindy’s godparents of Melvin, IA; aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and many good friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Clarence and Faith Sorensen, grandma Wilma Wimmer; cousin, Stacey Sorensen; and special friends, Kelsey Jobes, and Tommy Jensen. Everyone who knew Min, knew one of her mottos was “Overcomer”. Although Min’s earthly body did not win her fight against cancer, we rejoice because she, through her faith in Christ, overcame death and joins her heavenly family. Mindy’s family expresses their deepest appreciation for the countless individuals who have blessed Mindy and her family with support, prayers, and love!
